In Oriental Medicine, the human body is a microcosm within a universal macrocosm. Our skin, muscles, and organs are interrelated interiorly and exteriorly by the channels and connecting vessels. In the complex interweaving of channels, Qi and blood are transported to every part of the body.
Qi is often defined as vital force. In fact, a more precise description of its nature is found in quantum mechanics. Qi is energy and matter, and it follows the concept that all energy has both wave-like and particle-like properties. Qi and blood nourish, energize, protect, lubricate, and warm all organs, sense organs, and tissues of the body.
A healthy person is one in perfect balance between the forces of Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang are complementary opposite aspects of every thing in nature. For instance, day is Yang and night Yin, hot is Yang and cold Yin, blood is Yin and Qi is Yang, and so forth. Every phenomenon in the universe alternates through cycles of Yin and Yang. Day changes into night and summer into winter and vice versa. This interplay of complementary opposites contains within itself both aspects of Yin and Yang. Day is predominantly Yang, but after it peaks at noon, the Yin aspects within it gradually start to manifest whereas the Yang characteristics increasingly fade away as day progresses into night. In our bodies, physiological processes, symptoms, and diseases have their Yin and Yang aspects, and the goal of Oriental Medicine is to restore harmony when balance is broken.
Oriental Medicine promotes the flow of Qi and blood, balances the Yin and Yang, and regulates excesses and deficiencies. The Qi of the organs manifests in the face. Therefore, Cosmetic Acupuncture, as a specialty of Oriental Medicine, treats the whole person with the specific goals of reducing wrinkles, enhancing skin tone, and improving muscle firmness by restoring balance and stimulating the flow of Qi and blood to the face and neck regions. While the focus of Cosmetic Acupuncture is on beauty, its main goal is to reestablish health. Beauty is a matter of balance.
Although Cosmetic Acupuncture induces rejuvenation and change in external appearance, the treatments instill an improvement in total wellness. Specifically, you may notice:
• Radiant, beautiful skin
• Elimination of fine lines
• Smoothing of deep lines
• Fading of age spots
• More toned muscles
• Enhanced overall health
• Clearing of acne and pimples
• Better digestion and sleeping pattern
